The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and NC State Wolfpack face off on Saturday in a non-conference showdown at Carter-Finley. When these two teams faced off in 2013, NC State won 40-14.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come into this game with a 2-2 record and they are coming off a victory against North Texas. Louisiana Tech is averaging 35 points while their defense is giving up 33.2 points. Under center for Louisiana Tech is Austin Kendall and he has thrown for 837 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. In the backfield, Louisiana Tech is led by Marcus Williams Jr who has rushed for 258 yards and two touchdowns. In this game for Louisiana Tech it’s going to be about the defense being good, and slowing down NC State’s offense.
NC State sits with a 3-1 record and the only loss came against Mississippi State in their second game of the year. In the last game against Clemson, they were able to win 27-21 in overtime. NC State is averaging 31.7 points per game while their defense is giving up 13 points. Under center for NC State is Devin Leary and he has thrown for 1,032 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions. In the last game against Clemson, Leary threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns. The one thing NC State can;t do in this game is overlook Louisiana Tech. After such an impressive game against Clemson, they can’t fall back with a loss.
Louisiana Tech is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall. NC State is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games. The over is 6-2 in Louisiana Tech’s last eight games overall. The under is 4-1 in NC State’s last five home games.
I do expect a little stepback from NC State in this game. Louisiana Tech’s offense has been good averaging 35 points, and they are going to find offensive success in this game. I don’t think the Bulldogs are going to win this game, but Louisiana Tech will cover the spread.
