The UAB Blazers and Tulane Green Wave face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Yulman Stadium. When these two teams last faced off in 2018, UAB came away with the 31-24 victory.
The UAB Blazers have had quite the start to the season winning two of their first three games. The only loss came against Georgia, a team that could be competing for the National Championship. UAB on the season is averaging 26 points per game while their defense is giving up 20.67 points per game. Under center for UAB is Dylan Hopkins and he has thrown for 261 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. In this game for UAB it’s going to be about the offense finding success early and making life tough on the Tulane defense. Getting out to a fast start is going to be key.
On the other side of this matchup is the Tulane Green Wave who have played a tough schedule to start the season. They have lost to Oklahoma and Mississippi State and the win came against Morgan State. Against Oklahoma, Tulane was competitive, but in the last game against Ole Miss they were defeated 61-21. Under center for Tulane is Michael Pratt and on the season he has thrown for 586 yards, seven touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Tulane’s defense has been an issue but they have also faced two of the best offenses in college football.
UAB is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games played against teams with a losing record. Tulane is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite. The under is 4-1 in UAB’s last five games. The over is 4-0 in Tulane’s last four games overall. The underdog is 4-0 in the last four meetings played between UAB and tulane.
This has been a series dominated by the underdog, and UAB could win this game outright. UAB has a good defense and that will slow down the Green Wave. I am taking the points just to be safe. Back UAB against the spread.
