The MIami of Ohio Redhawks and Army Black Knights face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Michie Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2018, Army won 31-30 in overtime.
The Army Black Knights have gotten out to a fast start to the season winning each of the first three games. The closest game for Army was two games ago against Western Kentucky, and they won 38-35. In the last game against UConn, the offense for Army was elite, scoring 52 points and led to the 31 point victory. Army is averaging 43.3 points per game while their defense is giving up 22 points per game. Army runs the option attack and quarterback Christian Anderson has been the top rusher sitting with 195 yards. Four different players for Army have put up over 100 yards rushing.
On the other side of this matchup is the Miami of Ohio Redhawks who lost their first two games of the season before winning their last game against the LIU Post Panthers. The offense in the first two games was an issue for the Redhawks but in the last game they scored 42 points. Quarterback Brett Gabbert completed 10 of his 16 passes for 171 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The best player for Miami on the ground is David Afari and he had five carries and 78 yards. On defense Miami struggled against the Gophers to stop the run, and they need to find a way to get the offense going.
Miami of Ohio is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall. Army is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall. The under is 9-4 in Miami of Ohio’s last 13 games overall. The over is 4-0 in Army’s last four games overall.
Miami of Ohio’s defense is an issue against the run shown with their game against Minnesota, and that is going to let them down in this game. Army’s offense is going to be strong, putting up at least 41 points, and the Redhawks will have no answer. Army will win the game and cover the spread.
