The Louisville Cardinals and Florida State Seminoles face off in a Week 4 college football showdown at Doak-Campbell Stadium. Louisville beat Florida State 48-16 last October.
The Florida State Seminoles have some serious issues and they have lost all three games so far. Florida State has lost to Notre Dame, Jacksonville State, and Wake Forest. In the last game against the Demon Deacons, the offense could only manage 14 points, while their defense gave up 35 points. McKenzie Milton and Jordan Travis both played against Wake Forest and it’s unclear who will get the start in this game. Milton had two interceptions, and the turnovers can’t be an issue going forward. The defense also needs to be a lot better, or Florida State will be starting the season 0-5.
On the other side of this matchup is the Louisville Cardinals who opened up the season with a loss against Ole Miss, but they bounced back winning two straight games. The offense was strong scoring 42 points, and that was the difference as Louisville came away with the 42-35 victory, Malik Cunningham is a strong quarterback under center and he completed 23 of his 38 passes for 265 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Cunningham also had 99 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The defense for Louisville needs to be strong in this game, and creating a couple of turnovers against Milton or Travis would be important.
Louisville is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite. Florida State is 3-7 against the spread in their last ten home games. The over is 7-0 in Louisville’s last seven games following an ATS win. The favorite is 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings. The over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between Louisville and Florida State.
Louisville is on the road, but they are still the better team in this game. Florida State’s defense is an issue, and Louisville is going to have no issue running up the score in this game. Cunningham is going to have a big game and lead Louisville to a cover of the spread.
