The Georgia Bulldogs and Vanderbilt Commodores face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Vanderbilt Stadium. When these two teams last faced off in August of 2019, Georgia came away with the 30-6 victory.
The Georgia Bulldogs come into this game with a 3-0 record and they might be the most impressive team in college football. Georgia opened the season up with a 10-3 victory over Clemson, and followed it up with victories over UAB and South Carolina. Through the first three games, Georgia has given up only 23 points total. Georgia’s offense is averaging 428.7 yards per game which is 49th in football.Under center for Georgia is JT Daniels who has thrown for 439 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Daniels is banged up, but he’s expected to play in this game. Georgia’s goal in this game will again be to have this game decided by halftime, and get some of the younger guys some playing time in the second half.
On the other side of this matchup is the Vanderbilt Commodores who are in the middle of a program rebuild, but they do have one win this year over Colorado State. In the last game against Stanford, the defense struggled again giving up 41 points and that led to the defeat. Vanderbilt hasn’t scored more than 24 points in any of the games, At halftime, Vanderbilt had given up 27 points, and they couldn’t ever bounce back. Under center for Vanderbilt is Ken Seals who has thrown for 553 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Vanderbilt is facing a tough defense in this game, and Seals will need to play a near-perfect game to have a chance at victory.
Georgia is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games. Vanderbilt is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven home games. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings. The under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Vanderbilt.
Georgia is big favorites on Saturday, but they are still going to have no issues getting the job done in this game. Georgia’s defense is elite, and Vanderbilt’s offense isn’t good. Look for Georgia to run up the score, and they will win this game in blowout fashion. Back the Bulldogs against the spread.
