The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will head on the road to face the Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday in an FBS College football matchup. The Buckeyes won the only game between these two programs when they played back in 2018.
Tulsa is now 0-2 after falling 28-23 at Oklahoma State in week 2. They had more total yards than the Cowboys, and won the turnover battle, but they lost on the scoreboard. Davis Brin was 19/27 for 224 yards. JuanCarlos Santana hauled in four targets for 61 yards. Both offensive touchdowns came on the ground. Defensively they did a good job slowing down Oklahoma State, limiting them to 173 yards passing and an interception. Justin Wright had the pick and took it back 55 yards for the score. Tulsa is averaging just under 400 yards and 20 points per game to start the year, allowing 23.5 to the opposition. Running back Deneric Prince has been their best weapon, racking up 185 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Ohio State is coming off a loss at home to number 12 Oregon, falling 35-28 last Saturday. Oregon jumped out to a 28-14 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Buckeyes were able to move the ball well, racking up 612 yards of total offense, however they were just 6-15 on third down with a costly interception on their last chance to tie. Quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 484 yards and three touchdowns, as well as the backbreaking pick late. Chris Olave led the team with 12 catches, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba led with 145 reception yards and two touchdowns. On defense they allowed 269 yards on the ground to Oregon; the Ducks averaged 7.1 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Ohio State ranks fourth in the nation with 389 passing yards per game to start the season.
Tulsa is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games, 6-4 on the money line, and the under is 6-3-1.
Ohio State is 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games, 9-1 on the money line, and the over is 5-4-1.
This one should not be close, as the Buckeyes offense should have no trouble moving the ball on this Tulsa defense. Tulsa has been efficient on offense, but Ohio State’s defense will be hungry after getting ran over by the Ducks at home in their last game. The Buckeyes will be able to get out to a big lead and stifle this Tulsa offense. Look for Ohio State to bounce back in a big way at home.
