The Oklahoma State Cowboys will travel to Albertsons Stadium to take on the Boise State Broncos this Saturday night in College Football action.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 28-23, this past Saturday. Oklahoma State trailed by a 14-7 margin heading into the 4th quarter, however, the Cowboys were able to hold off the Golden Hurricane after a 98-yard kickoff return by LD Brown gave Oklahoma State a 21-17 lead with 10:41 left in the 4th quarter. Oklahoma State was outgained by Tulsa by a 347-313 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 1-0 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Cowboys was QB Spencer Sanders who completed 15 of 26 passes for 173 yards & 2 TD while also rushing for 62 yards.

On the season, Oklahoma State is averaging 25.5 ppg on 341.0 total yards per game (244.0 passing yds/g; 97.0 rushing yds/g). Oklahoma State got a boost last game with the return of Spencer Sanders last game and certainly has a talented backfield in the RB duo of LD Brown (24 att, 56 yards, TD) & Jaylen Warren (20 att, 46 yards, 2 TD). The top receiving threats for the Cowboys are Jaden Bray (6 rec, 136 yards, TD), Tay Martin (6 rec, 107 yards, TD), Brennan Presley (8 rec, 103 yards), & Bryson Green (5 rec, 57 yards, TD).

Defensively, Oklahoma State is holding their opponents to an average of 19.5 ppg on 341.5 total yards per game (229.0 passing yds/g; 112.5 rushing yds/g).

The Boise State Broncos improved to 1-1 on the season after defeating the UTEP Miners, 54-13, this past Friday night. Boise State was outstanding on the defensive end forcing UTEP turnovers and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 41-13 lead. Boise State outgained UTEP by a 461-336 margin while also winning the turnover battle by a 6-1 margin. Leading the way for the Broncos was QB Hank Bachmeier who completed 17 of 24 passes for 340 yards & 2 TD’s.

On the season, Boise State is averaging 42.5 ppg on 372.0 total yards per game (301.5 passing yds/g; 70.5 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Boise State has been led by QB Hank Bachmeier who has completed 66.7% of his passes for 603 yards, 4 TD, & 1 INT. The top receiving threats for the Bachmeier and the Broncos have been Khalil Shakir (12 rec, 257 yards, 2 TD), Stefan Cobbs (5 rec, 124 yards, TD), Octavius Evans (7 rec, 83 yards), & Tyneil Hopper (2 rec, 29 yards, TD). Leading the way for the Broncos backfield has been the trio of Tyler Crowe (7 att, 45 yards), Cyrus Habibi-Likio (15 att, 34 yards), & Andrew Van Buren (15 att, 29 yards, 3 TD).

Defensively, Boise State is holding their opponents to an average of 24.5 ppg on 454.5 total yards per game (275.0 passing yds/g; 179.5 rushing yds/g).

The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog and 14-4 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games. The Broncos are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, however, are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win.

Oklahoma State lost a bunch of offensive weapons from last year’s team, however, this is still a very talented Cowboys team which only got better last week with Spencer Sanders returning to the lineup. Boise State certainly can score some points, however, their offensive is one-dimensional and the Broncos passing attack will face their biggest challenge yet in a Cowboys secondary returns five starters from a unit that ranked 47th in passing defense last year. This should be an entertaining game to watch, however, as I think Oklahoma State has top-15 talent, I think the play here is to take the Cowboys and the points. Good Luck!
