The MIssouri Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at Kroger Field. These two teams faced off in October of 2020 and it was Missouri that won 20-10.
The Kentucky Wildcats opened up their season against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and it was a pretty dominating performance. Kentucky scored 14 points in three of the four quarters and the offense is going to need to be big again in this game. Under center for Kentucky is Will Levis and he completed 18 of his 26 passes for 367 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Josh Ali had five receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown. Wan’Dale Robinson who transferred in from Nebraska and he finished with five receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of this matchup is the Missouri Tigers who started their season against Central MIchigan and Missouri came away with the 34-24 victory. Connor Bazelak had a big game completing 21 of his 32 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Missouri also had their way on the ground led by Tyler Badle who rushed 25 times for 203 yards and a touchdown. Missouri has plenty of weapons out wide and in the first game nine different players had at least one reception. The defense wasn’t as dominant for Missouri and they need to slow down the Kentucky offense.
Missouri is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games in September. Kentucky is 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games with a winning record. The under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings played between the two teams.
Kentucky is the better team, and they are going to have no issue running up the score in this game. I expect Levis to throw the ball over the field, and the Wildcats will cruise to the victory. Back Kentucky to cover the spread.
