The Ball State Cardinals and Toledo Rockets face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at the Glass Bowl.
Ball State lost in their first game of the season against the Miami of Ohio Redhawks, but since that point they have won two games in a row but they haven’t been the prettiest wins. IN the last game they faced off with a Northern Illinois team that hasn’t been great, but they were able to come away with a six point victory. On the season Ball State is averaging 33.3 points per game while their defense is giving up 31.3 points per game. Ball State uses a very balanced attack on offense but running back Caleb Huntley has been a star putting up 437 yards and six total touchdowns. In this game the offense will need to be good, but the defense is going to need to find a way to step up and slow down Toledo.
On the other side of this matchup is the Toledo Rockets who also come into this game with a 2-1 record and their only loss came two games ago against Western Michigan by three points. In the last game against Eastern Michigan they got back on the right track putting up 46 points and that led to the easy blowout victory. Toledo’s offense has been the story all season for this team averaging 40.3 points per game. The one big question heading into this game is the status of quarterback Eli Peters who left the last game with a leg injury. If he can’t go in this game, that is going to really hurt Toledo’s chance at a victory.
The over is 8-1 in Ball State’s last nine games in November. The over is 7-2 in the last nine games overall for Toledo. The road team is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings between the two squads. The under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between Ball State and Toledo.
This is going to be a competitive game and both teams are going to step up with their defense. Look for a lower scoring game with both defenses locking down in the second half. Back the under to cash with ease in this one.
Shane’s Pick Under 64.5
