Notre Dame faces North Carolina on Friday, November 27th at Kenan Stadium for an NCAA football Week 13 ACC matchup.
Notre Dame is ranked #2 in the nation and sits at 8-0, 7-0 in conference play in the ACC. Notre Dame did not play in Week 12, as the Irish's last game was against Boston College on November 14th. In that game at Boston College, Notre Dame took down BC by the final score of 45-31. Notre Dame, of course, was the only team this season to beat Clemson. Now, Notre Dame has a great chance to make it to the college football playoff, but taking care of business in games like these is necessary. Notre Dame scores 37.6 points per game and earns 462.3 total yards per contest as well. Notre Dame's defense has been efficient this season, allowing only 16.6 points per game and conceding 304.1 total yards of offense to its opposition. Notre Dame will look for its ninth win of the season against a North Carolina team that can score, to say the least.
North Carolina did not play in Week 12 as well, as the Tar Heels were on their bye week. North Carolina is 6-2 on the year and in ACC play this season under head coach Mack Brown. North Carolina's last game was against Wake Forest. In that game, North Carolina defeated Wake Forest by the final score of 58-53 in what was an absolute offensive shootout. North Carolina is used to shootouts this season, as the Tar Heels score 43.1 points per game and allow 30.8 points per game as well. North Carolina earns 563.4 total yards of offense per game, so it will be interesting to see if UNC can challenge a staunch defense like Notre Dames's.
Notre Dame opens as 7.5-point favorites on the road and the total is set at 63.5. The fact of the matter is, Notre Dame has not faced an offense like North Carolina's all season long. Remember, Clemson did not have Trevor Lawrence when it took on Notre Dame in Week 10. I like both teams to score a ton of points in this game, and I will take the over 63.5.
