Western Carolina faces Liberty on Saturday, November 14th at Williams Stadium for a Week 11 NCAA football matchup.
It is time for Western Carolina to make its season debut in Week 11 of the college football season. Western Carolina is an FCS school out of the Southern Conference. Western Carolina went 3-9 in 2019, but the team was given two games against FBS teams. Those games included NC State (41-0 loss) and Alabama (66-3 loss). Western Carolina will have to replace quarterback Tyrie Adams, who was the starter for Western Carolina in 2019. Western Carolina will most likely be a bit rusty, and that can be very costly when its opponent is ranked #22 in the country. Western Carolina will not have time to break in its new players, which could result in a very long game for the Catamounts.
Liberty is coming off a major upset over the ACC's Virginia Tech on the road in Week 10. Liberty is now 7-0 and is ranked #22 in the nation in the AP Polls. Liberty has been one of the most surprising teams in the country this season, as Hugh Freeze has his guys playing fast and furious football. Liberty has taken down two ACC teams (Syracuse and VA Tech) and deserves its top-25 ranking without a doubt. Liberty is now one of seven teams with an undefeated record (minimum five games). Liberty will move to 8-0 after this game with Western Carolina, the only question will be how many points Liberty wins by. Liberty's offense should have no problems against a rusty Western Carolina team, and this game could get ugly, quick.
I expect Liberty to score 50 points or more in this game. Liberty is going to pound Western Carolina here, and I think the only play that anyone could make would be on Liberty against the spread. I expect Liberty to win this game by five touchdowns at the minimum, so I will take Liberty and lay the 32.5 points at home here.
