The Purdue Boilermakers and Wisconsin Badgers face off on Saturday in college football action at Camp Randall Stadium.
There are a lot of question marks surrounding this game but the biggest is if it will even happen. A COVID outbreak has happened with the Badgers and this game seems to be in serious jeopardy.
The Purdue Boilermakers haven’t always looked the prettiest so far this season but they have won each of their first two games of the season and that’s all that really matters. To start the season, Purdue beat Iowa and followed that up with a victory over Illinois in their last game. At quarterback Purdue is led by Aiden O’Connell who has thrown for 658 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. One area the offense has struggled has been with the rushing game averaging only 94 yards per game on the ground. One big question heading into this game is if star quarterback Rondale Moore will be available for this game. Moore has missed the first two games of the season and if he can’t go in this game, that would be a big loss for the team.
On the other side of this matchup is the Wisconsin Badgers who have all kinds of questions heading into this game and a lot of them we might not even know about. Quarterback Jack Coan is still out with a foot injury and Graham Mertz will have to miss this game because of COVID. QuarterbackChase Wolf is also showing COVID symptoms and is questionable for this game. OVerall 22 different players have tested positive for COVID which really puts this game into doubt. Wisconsin did have no issues winning their first game of the season in blowout fashion against Illinois, but there are still so many questions surrounding this team.
The under is 11-3 in Purdue’s last 14 games on fieldturf. The under is 13-5 in Purdue’s last 18 road games. Wisconsin is 7-3 against the spread in their 10 home games. Purdue is 3-11 against the spread in their last 14 meetings against Wisconsin.
This is a game that should be bet lightly because of all the questions surrounding the COVID ravaged Badgers. With Wisconsin’s quarterback issues I don’t see a way they keep this game close, Back Purdue to win this game and cover the spread.
