The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and North Texas Mean Green face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Apogee Stadium.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have been up and down this season but they are coming off a win in their last game against UAB. LA Tech was 12 point underdogs in that game but the offense was good putting up 37 points and that led to the victory. On the season the Bulldogs are averaging 30.3 points per game while the defense is giving up 32.3 points per game. Louisiana Tech has issues running the ball so when their offense is good, they find success. At quarterback, the star of the show has been Luke Anthony who has thrown for 1,208 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. In this game they are playing a defense that has been terrible and they need to run up the score. A shootout is exactly what Louisiana wants to happen in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the North Texas Mean Green who had lost three games in a row before winning their last game against Middle Tennessee. In that game against Middle Tennessee, it was the offense that was the difference putting up 52 points and that led to a victory. The big question for North Texas who is going to be under center. Jason Bean came in relief in the last game throwing 181 yards and two touchdowns and the big question is was that enough to get a start. If it’s not Bean it will be Austin Aune who has been the normal starter. On defense NorthTexas is giving up 44.2 points per game and almost 550 yards.
The under is 8-2 in LA Tech’s last nine games in November. North Texas is 1-10 against the spread in their last 11 games against teams with winning records. The road team is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings between Louisiana Tech and North Texas.
This is a game that is going to have very little defense and that is going to lead to both teams running up the score. Look for this game to go well over the posted total and I will be buying this number up a few points.
