The Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs face off in a big time college football rivalry on Saturday at EverBank Field.
Florida had a COVID outbreak that they had to deal with, but they seem to be healthy again and it didn’t look like they lost a step in the last game. In the game against the Missouri Tigers it was the offense that was elite again putting up 41 points and that was enough to win in blowout fashion. On the season it’s been Florida’s offense that has been elite putting up 42 points and in this game it’s going to be about the offense having success against a good defense. Quarterback Kyle Trask has had a big year throwing for 1,341 yards, 18 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Tight end Kyle Pitts has also had a big year hauling in 22 passes for 355 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense this Gators team has struggled a bit giving up 29.2 points per game and they are going to need the defense to step up in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Georgia Bulldogs who only have one loss this season that came against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Eve with the success, there are some questions about the offense heading into this game. In the last game against Kentucky, the Georgia offense could only manage 14 points and that type of offensive production is troubling. Quarterback Stenson Bennett has thrown for 1,089 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions. At times this season, Bennett has been inconsistent. On defense is where Georgia has their biggest strength giving up only 16.2 points per game and in this game the defense is going to need to step up in a big way or this could be their second loss of the season.
Florida is 8-3 in their last 11 conference games. The under is 12-3-1 in Georgia’s last 16 conference games. The under is 15-5-1 in Georgia’s last 21 games overall. The under is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings between Florida and Georgia.
Georgia’s defense is elite and that is going to continue in this game. Who knows if it’s going to be enough to come away with the victory, but this game is going to be low scoring and the under is going to cash with ease.
