San Jose State faces San Diego State on Friday, November 6th at SDCCU Stadium for a Week 10 NCAA football matchup.
San Jose State is coming off a 38-21 win over New Mexico in its last game in week nine. San Jose State was efficient in the passing game in its win over New Mexico, as quarterback Nick Starkel threw for 467 yards and five passing touchdowns. Starkel has thrown seven touchdowns and only one interception to start his senior season. San Jose State is now a perfect 2-0 to start the season, with both wins coming against fellow Mountain West opponents. San Jose State has scored 27.5 points per game and has earned 436.5 total yards of offense per contest as well to start the season. San Jose State has also allowed 13.5 points per game to its opposition, as the defense has held up well in its first two games. San Jose State will face its toughest opponent of the season when it takes on San Diego State on the road.
San Diego State took down Utah State in dominating fashion by the final score of 38-7. San Diego State only had a 10-7 lead at halftime of that game, but the Aztecs of SDSU scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to cruise to a 31-point victory on the road. San Diego State is also 2-0 to start the year, with its other win being a 34-6 victory over UNLV. San Diego State's defense has been fantastic to start the season, allowing six and seven points respectively to its first two opponents this season. San Diego State's offense has also performed well so far, scoring an average of 36.0 points per game. San Diego State will look to push its record to 3-0 in its second home game of the season at SDCCU Stadium.
San Diego State opens as 9-point favorites and the total is set at 51. I like San Diego State to win this game, but I do think San Jose State could give San Diego State trouble for a decent portion of this one. San Jose State's offense should do enough early on in this game for the team to cover, so I will take San Jose State and the nine points.
