Temple faces Tulane on Saturday, October 31st at Yulman Stadium for week nine of NCAA football action.
Temple is coming off a 41-29 loss to Memphis in its last game in week eight. Temple kept things close for a while, even taking a 15-10 lead into halftime. Mistakes on both sides of the ball hurt Temple in the second half, handing the Owls their second loss of the season. Temple is 1-2 overall and also 1-2 in conference play out of the American Athletic Conference. Temple's offense has done well to start the season, as quarterback Anthony Russo and Temple score 32.3 points per game and earn 441.0 total yards per contest as well. Temple allows 36.3 points per game to the opposition, including 78 points combined in its last two games. Temple will have to face a tough offense in Tulane that can certainly score 35 or more points easily.
Tulane is coming off a 51-34 loss to UCF in its last game in week eight. Tulane was torched through the air in that game, allowing Dillion Gabriel to pass for 422 yards and five passing touchdowns. Tulane is now 2-4 on the year and 0-4 in conference play this season. Tulane has lost three straight games against Houston, SMU, and UCF, three teams that know how to put a ton of points on the board and in a hurry. Tulane scores 36.0 points per game and earns 379.0 total yards per contest as well. Tulane also allows 35.3 points per game to the opposition, as Tulane is a typical American Athletic Conference team.
I am expecting a very high-scoring game between two teams that usually leave defense as an afterthought. I expect both teams to score at least 30 points, with the team that has the ball last most likely winning the game. I will take the over in what should be an offensive shootout, American Athletic Conference style.
