The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and Texas State Bobcats face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at TSU Bobcat Stadium.
Louisiana’s games haven’t been the prettiest this year but they have found a lot of success losing only one game against a very good Coastal Carolina team. In the last game against UAB for most of the game it looked like they might lose the game but they made winning plays late, and that was enough to come away with the victory. On the season the Ragin Cajuns are averaging 27.2 points per game while the defense is giving up 22.6 points per game. Quarterback Levi Lewis has thrown for 1,048 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. In this game they are facing a defense that hasn’t been great, and running up the score is going to be important.
On the other side of this matchup is the Texas State Bobcats who have struggled this year winning only one of their seven games. Texas State’s last game was against BYU and their defense struggled giving up 52 points, although that wasn’t that surprising because BYU has been doing that to everyone this season. Coming into this game Texas State is averaging 26 points per game while the defense is giving up 34.6 points per game. On offense the Bobcats are led by Brady McBride who has thrown for 959 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions. The Bobcats do have their hands full in this game and getting out to a fast start is important.
ULL is 9-3 in their last 12 games played in October. Louisiana is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall. The under is 7-1 in Texas State’s last eight games in October. Texas State is 6-13-1 against the spread in their last 20 games overall.
Louisiana has seemed to play down to their competition this season and that is going to continue in this game. The Ragin Cajuns are still going to win the game but Texas State is going to keep it close. Back Texas State to cover the spread.
