‘The Oklahoma State Cowboys and Baylor Bears face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at McLane Stadium.
No one has said Oklahoma State has looked dominant so far this season but they come into this game with a perfect 3-0 record and that’s all that matters. In the last game Oklahoma State played their best game of the season against the Kansas Jayhawks putting up 47 points while the defense gave up only seven points. Cowboys running back Chubba Hubbard is a star and coming into this game he has rushed for 339 yards and four touchdowns. Backup running back LD Brown has also had a big year rushing for 283 yards and one touchdown. The offense needs to control the tempo in this game with their run game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Baylor Bears who have dealt with COVID issues this season and they could still be without players this season as they have had another outbreak. Baylor has played two games this season and they sit with a 1-1 record. After beating Kansas in the first game, they struggled in Game 2 against West Virginia, a game they lost by six points. The offense showed some holes in the second game and hopeful they have fixed some of those issues in this game. Quarterback Charlie Brewer has thrown for 371 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.
Oklahoma State is 12-4-1 against the spread in their last 17 games overall. Baylor is 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games against teams with a winning record. The home team is 13-5 against the spread in their last 18 meetings. The favorite is 15-6 against the spread in their last 21 meetings between Baylor and Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State is probably the better team, but Baylor is a gritty team and at home, they are going to at least keep it close. Look for Baylor to cover the spread in this game and don’t be shocked if they pull the upset. In terms of the total it's a lean to the over but that's a lean at best.
Shane’s Pick Baylor +7
