Austin Peay faces Cincinnati on Saturday, September 19th at Nippert Stadium for week three NCAA football action.
Austin Peay will face yet another FBS team on Saturday when the team takes on Cincinnati. Austin Peay took on Pittsburgh in week two, and that game was not pretty for the Governors of Austin Peay. Pittsburgh absolutely rolled in that game, as the final score was 55-0. Austin Peay was down 42-0 at halftime, as nothing seemed to go right in that game for the team. Austin Peay had a total of three rushing yards -- yes three-- rushing yards on 22 rushing attempts. Austin Peay was able to pass the ball with a bit more efficiency, as the team threw for 136 yards. Austin Peay conceded 456 total yards, with 309 coming through the air, and the other 147 on the ground. Austin Peay turned the ball over three times, two of the turnovers being interceptions and one fumble. Austin Peay will now have the daunting task of taking on an equally, if not, more difficult Cincy team that will be making its season debut in this game.
Cincinnati will start its season at Nippert Stadium against a feasible Austin Peay in week three. Cincinnati returns quarterback Desmond Ridder, as the redshirt junior is set to start for the third-straight year for Cincinnati. Gerrid Doaks looks to be the lead running back heading into the 2020 season. Doaks ran 100 times for 526 yards and five touchdowns in the 2019 season, averaging 5.26 yards per carry. Cincinnati should not have any problems against Austin Peay in game one of its season, as the final score will most likely look similar to the Pittsburgh game Austin Peay just participated in.
The line has not yet been released for this game, so be sure to check back soon for updates regarding the odds. Cincinnati is going to win this game, and it is not going to be close. Winning a game by 55 points against any team is tough, but I could definitely see Cincinnati winning this game as badly as Pittsburgh did a week ago. The only play for me in this game is on Cincinnati, and I will lay however points I have to.
