Syracuse faces North Carolina on Saturday, September 12th at Kenan Stadium for week two NCAA football action.
Week two already provides us with an exciting ACC-matchup at Kenan Stadium. Syracuse is coming off a disappointing season in 2019. Last year was incredibly deflating for the Orange considering Syracuse's successful 2018 campaign. Syracuse went 5-7 in 2019, failing to reach a bowl game. Tommy DeVito was given the starting quarterback job last year, just as he will in 2020. The days of Eric Dungey are behind Syracuse, and the team certainly missed his presence in 2019. DeVito will have to be a lot sharper in his red-shirt junior year if Syracuse has any plans of reaching a bowl game in 2020. Syracuse will also be replacing the 2,518 rushing yards that Moe Neal accumulated in 2019, as he moved on due to graduation. Abdul Adams looks to be the starting back for Syracuse heading into week two. Dino Babers is entering his fifth season as the head coach of Syracuse, and he has a 23-26 record with Cuse since taking over.
North Carolina will be the #18 ranked school in the country heading into the 2020 season. Known for being mostly a basketball school, North Carolina took a huge step forward last season. North Carolina went 6-6 during the regular season, and North Carolina took down Temple in the Military Bowl to end the season above .500. The legendary Mack Brown will enter his second year as the head coach of the Tar Heels, and it is clear that he has already changed the culture of North Carolina football in the incredibly right direction. Starting quarterback from a season ago, Sam Howell returns to lead North Carolina on offense. Senior Michael Carter looks to be the starting running back for North Carolina, and both Dazz Newsome and Dyami Brown will be back as the top two targets in the North Carolina passing game.
North Carolina looks to be locked and loaded this year, and I think they are going to do big things in the ACC. Syracuse looks like it is in a rebuilding process under Babers, and I do not trust Tommy DeVito one bit. I will take North Carolina to win and cover this game.
