Ole Miss Rebels (0-0) vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs (0-0)
College Football: Saturday, November 26, 2020 in Oxford, MS
The Line: Ole Miss -3.0 -- Over/Under:
The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be on the road for a rivalry game against in-state foe, the Ole Miss Rebels. This game will take place on November, 26, 2020. Mississippi State finished the 2019 season with an overall record of (6-7), while Ole Miss went (4-8). The two teams met last season, as Mississippi State came away with a 21-20 home win. Let’s take a closer look at both programs. Get College Football predictions at Pick Dawgz.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be looking to secure another win against Ole Miss in as many years. The Bulldogs will be turning to sophomore quarterback Garrett Shrader to do just that for the 2nd year in a row. Shrader passed for just 108 yards on 10 completions last season, but did add a rushing touchdown. The coaching staff will be looking to running back Kylin Hill to have another stellar season out of the backfield. Hill rushed for over 130 yards in the atchup a year ago, which helped him finish with 1,350 yards on the season. An area of concern for Mississippi State this season will be the receiving core, but with this game being the regular season finale, the Bulldogs should have a few solid options at wideout. Ole Miss had multiple quarterbacks gain plenty of experience last season. Matt Corral was the quarterback under center in the matchup against Mississippi State last season. Corral passed for 124 yards, completing just 6 of 12 passes, throwing 1 touchdown and 1 interception. It is uncertain if he or John Rhys Plumlee will see the majority of playing time as the signal caller. Plumlee looked to have a little bit more upside last season, as he is considered a dual threat quarterback. If Ole Miss wants to beat Mississippi State at home this year, the Rebels will need Elijah Moore and Jerrion Ealy to improve from the 2019 campaign. Overview: Ole Miss is currently 3 point favorites in this home contest against Mississippi State. Two of the last three meetings have seen these two teams play this matchup within 3 points. Ole Miss saw their youth last season gain valuable experience, while the same could also be said for Mississippi State and quarterback Garrett Shrader. The Bulldogs return one of the better running backs in the SEC, as Hill will be looking to build off of his 1,350 yards from a season ago. This should be a good game with two rivals, therefore I’m going to take Mississippi State to keep this game within 3 points.
