The LSU Tigers will be set to face the Auburn Tigers for an SEC matchup on November 21, 2020. LSU had the perfect record in 2019, going (15-0), while Auburn went (9-4). The two played a great game last season, as LSU walked away with a 23-20 home win. Let’s take a closer look at both programs. Get College Football predictions at Pick Dawgz.
LSU will look quite different during 2020, as the Tigers lost a ton of players to the NFL. Offensively, LSU will have a new quarterback, running back, and a new number 1 wideout. Everyone knows what Joe Burrow, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Justin Jefferson accomplished last season and what number those three put up. Wait, that’s not all, LSU will basically have a whole new offensive line during the 2020 season. This is no doubt a season where the LSU program will see a regression in wins, as the Tigers will be inserting new players left and right for this 2020 season. On the other hand, Auburn will be looking to run past LSU in the standings. Auburn should have one of the deepest teams in the SEC, as the Tigers return essentially all of their skilled positions players. With a lot of returning players comes plenty of experience. Auburn saw numerous underclassmen gain valuable experience during 2019. Bo Nix gained great experience as a freshman and led the Tigers to 9 wins. Coach Gus Malzahn will be looking for running back JaTarvious Whitlow to build off of an impressive sophomore season. For more on Auburn, check out the team preview.
Auburn 2020 Win Total - College Football Pick and Prediction
Overview: The oddsmakers have given Auburn a 1.5 edge in this home game against LSU late in the season. Auburn gave LSU all they could handle last season, before falling by 3 points. This spread is very small, based on what LSU accomplished last season. However, the story here is, LSU lost the majority of their offense last season, while also losing key pieces on defense. Auburn had a pretty solid defense and with LSU having a new group on the offensive line, look for Auburn to take advantage in this area. LSU will still be solid, but Auburn should be one of the better teams in the SEC. I’ll side with Coach Gus Malzahn and company to get the job done at home and cover this small spread.
