The Air Force Falcons and Washington State Cougars meet Friday in the college football Cheez-It Bowl at Chase Field.

The Air Force Falcons are riding high entering bowl season on a seven-game winning streak. The Air Force Falcons have won their last three non-home games. Donald Hammond III is completing 52.5 percent of his passes for 1,286 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. Hammond has eight touchdown passes in his last three games. Geraud Sanders and Benjamin Waters have combined for 1,382 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while Kade Waguespack has five receptions. The Air Force Falcons ground game is averaging 292.5 yards per contest, and Kadin Remsberg leads the way with 872 yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, Air Force is allowing 19.8 points and 315.8 yards per game. Demonte Meeks leads the Air Force Falcons with 97 tackles, Mosese Fifita has five sacks and Milton Bugg III has three interceptions.

The Washington State Cougars have split their last six games and need a win to finish with a winning record. The Washington State Cougars have lost five straight non-home games. Anthony Gordon is completing 72.1 percent of his passes for 5,228 yards, 45 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Gordon has three or more touchdown passes in five of his last seven games. Brandon Arconado and Easop Winston Jr. have combined for 1,869 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns while Dezmon Patmon has 55 receptions. The Washington State Cougars ground game is averaging 72.5 yards per contest, and Max Borghi leads the way with 790 yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, Washington State is allowing 31.4 points and 456.8 yards per game. Jahad Woods leads the Washington State Cougars with 121 tackles, Will Rodgers III has four sacks and Skyler Thomas has three interceptions.

The Falcons are 21-7 ATS in their last 28 non-conference games, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 bowl games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Cougars are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games, 15-7 ATS in their last 22 games as an underdog and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The under is 4-1 in Falcons last 5 games overall. The over is 4-1 in Cougars last 5 games overall.

The Air Force Falcons are one of the hotter teams entering the bowl season with seven straight wins, but that schedule has you questioning just how good they actually are. The Washington State Cougars have been hit or miss all season, but their explosiveness offensively gives them a fighting chance every time they hit the field and they've been kind to us in the underdog role the last couple of years. Air Force hasn't faced a team like Washington State all season long and I question if that run-first offense can respond if the Cougars strike fast. I'll take the free field goal with Washington State.
