The Line: Buffalo Bulls -29 -- Over/Under: 52
The Bowling Green Falcons and the Buffalo Bulls meet in week 14 college football MAC-tion from UB Stadium on Friday afternoon as they close out the CFB regular season.
The Bowling Green Falcons will look to finish the year on a high note after falling to 3-8 on the year with a 66-24 beatdown loss to Ohio last time out. Grant Loy threw for 250 yards, a touchdown and a pick on 21 of 32 passing while Davon Jones and Bryson Denley combined for 165 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Julian Ortega-Jones led Bowling Green with 90 receiving yards while Quintin Morris had 6 catches for 86 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Ty Redding had a fumble recovery while Kholbe Coleman led the Falcons with 11 total tackles including 6 solo tackles. As a team, Bowling Green is averaging 331.9 yards of total offense and 16.8 points per game while allowing 456.4 yards of total defense and 37.6 points per game against this season.
The Buffalo Bulls will look to finish strong after winning 4 of their last 5 games with a 49-30 win over Toledo last time out. Kyle Vantrease threw for 172 yards and a touchdown on 13 of 20 passing while Jaret Patterson rushed for 192 yards and 4 touchdowns. Kevin Marks had 118 yards and a rushing TD of his own while Vantrease added a rushing TD as well. Antonio Nunn led Buffalo’s receiving group with 5 catches for 89 yards while Daniel Lee had 47 receiving yards and the aforementioned Patterson had 35 receiving yards and a receiving TD. Defensively, Matt Otwinoski led Buffalo with 10 total tackles with an interception while Ledarius Mack had a pair of interceptions. As a team, Buffalo is averaging 380.4 yards of total offense and 29.9 points per game while allowing 303 yards of total defense and 23.7 points per game against this season.
Bowling Green is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the under is 9-3 in their last 12 conference games. Buffalo is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 conference games. Bowling Green is 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
I’d like to give Bowling Green a chance here, but the fact is that the Falcons have been terrible on the road, going 0-5 SU and ATS, losing each of their road games this season by at least 39 points. Buffalo doesn’t always have huge offensive outbursts, but the Bulls stepped it up against Toledo and should have no problems scoring at will against Bowling Green. I’ll lay the points with Buffalo in a rout here.
