The Troy Trojans and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns meet in a week 13 Sun Belt conference college football matchup from Cajun Field on Saturday.

The Troy Trojans will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 63-27 rout of Texas State last time out. Kaleb Barker has thrown for 3,169 yards, 30 touchdowns and 7 picks on 67.2% passing while DK Billingsley led the Trojans in rushing with 819 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. Kaylon Geiger led Troy with 68 catches for 802 yards and 5 touchdowns while Reggie Todd has 551 yards and 5 TDs and Khalil McClain has 496 receiving yards with 7 touchdowns. Defensively, Carlton Martial leads Troy with 101 total tackles including 58 solo tackles with 4 sacks and 3 interceptions. Will Choloh Jr. also has 4 sacks while Will Sunderland leads the Trojans with 4 interceptions this season. As a team, Troy is averaging 478.6 yards of total offense and 39 points per game while allowing 409 yards of total defense and 31.6 points per game against this season.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns come into this game looking to build on their current four-game winning streak after a 37-27 road win over South Alabama last time out. Levi Lewis has thrown for 1,907 yards, 16 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 65.6% passing while Elijah Mitchell leads the Cajuns in rushing with 874 rushing yards an 13 touchdowns. Trey Ragas has 669 rushing yards and 9 scores and Raymond Calais has 650 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Ja’Marcus Bradley leads Louisiana’s receiving group with 39 grabs for 537 yards and 5 touchdowns while Jamal Bell has 354 receiving yards and Jarrod Jackson has 203 receiving yards. Defensively, Jacques Boudreaux leads the Cajuns with 66 total tackles including a team-high 35 solo tackles while Joe Dillon has a team-high 5 sacks. As a team, Louisiana is averaging 488.4 yards of total offense and 38.2 points per game while allowing 350.9 yards of total defense and 18.1 points per game against this season.

Troy is 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 conference games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Louisiana is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. Troy is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at Louisiana and the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams overall.

I have no qualms with ULL being favored at home here, but I do have a slight issue with the number. A win here for Louisiana almost locks up their spot in the Sun Belt title game and I think the Cajuns will be coming in here playing not to lose. A win here for Troy would mean securing bowl eligibility, and the Trojans have the skill offensively to hang with Louisiana here. I’ll take a shot with Troy and the points in this one.
