The Miami Hurricanes and the FIU Panthers meet in week 13 college football action from Marlins Park on Saturday.
Miami is sitting at 6-4 so far. The Hurricanes are 4-1 in their last five games, falling to Georgia Tech in OT but taking out Virginia, Pitt, Florida State and Louisville during that span.
In the win over the Cardinals, Miami QB Jarren Williams tossed for 253 yards and six scores, with Mike Harley catching six balls for 116 yards and two TDs. DeeJay Dallas led the rush there on 96 yards and a TD.
Over on the FIU side, they’re 5-5 this year. The Panthers are 2-2 over their last four outings, logging wins over UTEP and Old Dominion while falling to Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic.
In the loss to the Owls, FIU quarterback James Morgan put up 192 yards passing, and Tony Gaiter caught seven balls for 94 yards. Napoleon Maxwell put up 95 yards and one TD rushing there as well.
The Hurricanes are 4-0 ATS in their last four in November and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Miami is 1-5 ATS in their last six after scoring 40 or more in their previous game and the under is 7-1 in their last eight versus CUSA.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 5-0 ATS in their last five after a bye week and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the ACC. FIU is 8-3 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall.
Miami had a three-game scoring lull going there for a while, posting no more than 21 points in any of those games. The Hurricanes have bounced back in their last pair offensively however, with a total of 79 points scored in those two.
As for FIU, when their defense is on point they’re great, and the’ve won four of their last six outings mostly thanks to that. This is a tough call, but I think the Panthers have enough defensive talent to help the team bang out a cover.
