The Florida Gators and the Missouri Tigers meet in a week 12 SEC conference college football matchup from Faurot Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Florida Gators come into this game looking for some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 5 games following a 56-0 rout of Vanderbilt in their last outing. Dameon Pierce has 262 rushing yards and 3 TDs and Emory Jones has 152 rushing yards and 4 scores on the ground for Florida. Trevon Grimes has 404 receiving yards and Van Jefferson is right behind with 398 receiving yards while Josh Hammons, Tyrie Cleveland and Jacob Copeland all have 200+ receiving yards this year. Defensively, David Reese Ii leads Florida with 77 total tackles including a team-high 31 solo tackles while Donovan Stiner has a team-high 4 interceptions and Shawn Davis has 3 picks. Jonathan Greenard leads Florida with 4 sacks while Zach Carter and Mohamoud Diabate each have 3.5 sacks. As a team, Florida is averaging 419.8 yards of total offense and 33.3 points per game while allowing 311.3 yards of total defense and 15 points per game against this season.
The Missouri Tigers will try to snap a three game losing skid after a 27-0 loss to Georgia last time out. Kelly Bryant has thrown for 1,845 yards, 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions while Larry Rountree III leads the Tigers in rushing with 668 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns. As a team, Missouri is averaging 402.9 yards of total offense and 28.2 points per game while allowing 287.8 yards of total defense and 19.1 points per game against this season.
Florida is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games while the over is 6-0-1 in their last 7 road games. Missouri is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss. Florida is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.
Missouri at home with points is tempting as a win here would lock up bowl eligibility for the Tigers. However, Missouri has scored just 21 points in their last three games, including being shut out in their last outing, and efforts like that won’t cut it against a Florida team that’s stout up front and doesn’t give up anything easy. Florida also needs to keep racking up wins if they want any possible chance at an SEC championship game spot and Georgia has a tough date against Auburn this week. I just think that all of the cards point to a convincing Florida win here, so I’ll lay the points with the Gators in this spot.
