The Line: Virginia Cavaliers -17 -- Over/Under: 43.5
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Virginia Cavaliers will match up on the college football field Saturday.
Georgia Tech is just 2-6 this season. The Jackets have taken out South Florida and Miami-FL but otherwise have fallen to Clemson, the Citadel, Temple, UNC, Duke and Pittsburgh.
In the loss to Pitt, Georgia Tech QB James Graham posted 57 yards with one TD and one INT, and Jordan Mason put up 56 yards rushing. Ardell Brown managed 61 yards on four grabs with a TD.
Over on the Virginia side, they’re 6-3 so far. The Cavs have losses to Notre Dame, Miami-FL and Louisville with wins over Pitt, W&M, Florida State, ODU, Duke and UNC.
In the win over UNC, Virginia QB Bryce Perkins logged 378 yards with three scores, and also led the rush on 112 yards and two more TDs. Terrell Jana had a great game with 13 catches and 146 yards.
Georgia Tech is 2-5 ATS in their last seven in November and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 overall. The Jackets are 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games and 0-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight on grass. Virginia is 4-9 ATS in their last 13 in November and 1-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
Georgia Tech really can’t get much going this season and they’ve looked pretty ugly in most of their games. Still, the Jackets put together a nice effort every so often; they’re just outclassed in most of their matchups.
Virginia isn’t necessarily a powerhouse, but they’ve posted some pretty solid stats over their last three outings. I’m going to stick with the Cavaliers here, but that line is awful thick. .
