The Nevada Wolf Pack and the San Diego State Aztecs will match up on the college football scene Saturday.
Nevada is sitting at 5-4 so far. The Wolf Pack have losses to Oregon, Hawaii, Utah State and Wyoming but have beaten Purdue, Weber State, UTEP, SJSU and New Mexico.
In the win over the Lobos, Nevada QB Carson Strong had 305 yards and two scores, and Devonte Lee added 68 rush yards. Romeo Doubs had 167 yards and a TD on 11 catches as well there.
Over on the San Diego State side, they’re rolling along at 7-1 so far. The Aztecs’ lone loss came to Utah State but they’ve beaten Weber State, UCLA, NM State, CO State, Wyoming, SJSU and UNLV otherwise.
In the Rebels win, San Diego State QB Ryan Agnew put up 185 yards and a score, and Kobe Smith turned in seven catches for 78 yards. Juwan Washington rushed 16 times for 89 yards there as well.
The Wolf Pack are 4-1 ATS in their last five on grass and 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 in November. Nevada is 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 0-3-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
Meanwhile, the Aztecs are 4-1 ATS in their last five after a bye and 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. SDSU is 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 on grass.
Nevada had a bad two-game stretch where they were outscored 67-13, but they bounced back well against a sketchy New Mexico team, taking the win 21-10. That said, the Wolf Pack haven’t been too impressive on offense overall this year.
SDSU doesn’t light the scoreboards up either, but they’ve gotten a lift from consistent defense this season. I’m going to stick with the Aztecs in a relatively lower-scoring game here.
