The Florida International Panthers and Florida Atlantic Owls meet Saturday in college football action at FAU Football Stadium.
The Florida International Panthers look for another victory after winning four of their last five games. The Florida International Panthers have lost all three road games this season. James Morgan is completing 59.5 percent of his passes for 1,660 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Morgan has two touchdown passes in four of his last six games. Shemar Thornton and Austin Maloney have combined for 833 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Tony Gaiter IV has 27 receptions. The Florida International Panthers ground game is averaging 187.2 yards per contest, and Anthony Jones leads the way with 638 yards and seven touchdowns. Defensively, FIU is allowing 25.4 points and 364 yards per game. Jamal Gates leads the Florida International Panthers with 57 tackles, Alexy Jean-Baptiste has 2.5 sacks and Rishard Dames has three interceptions.
The Florida Atlantic Owls look to stay hot after winning six of their last seven games. The Florida Atlantic Owls have split their last four home games. Chris Robison is completing 63.3 percent of his passes for 2,339 yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions. Robison has two or more touchdown passes in five of his last seven games. Harrison Bryant and Deangelo Antoine have combined for 1,116 receiving yards and five touchdowns while John Mitchell has 29 receptions. The Florida Atlantic Owls ground game is averaging 139.4 yards per contest, and Malcolm Davidson leads the way with 364 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Florida Atlantic is allowing 26 points and 403.1 yards per game. Akileis Leroy leads the Florida Atlantic Owls with 67 tackles, Leighton McCarthy has five sacks and Meiko Dotson has four interceptions.
The Golden Panthers are 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 conference games and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Owls are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Golden Panthers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Florida Atlantic and the home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The under is 6-1 in Owls last 7 home games. The over is 6-1 in Golden Panthers last 7 road games.
The Florida International Panthers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as a road underdog. The Florida Atlantic Owls are 3-6 ATS in their last nine games as a home favorite. The Florida International Panthers have been quite disappointing given the talent they had returning, and even though they're winning games lately, they've beaten up on subpar teams and just struggled to pull away from ODU last week. The Florida Atlantic Owls got a solid road win against WKU as an underdog and has proven under Lane Kiffin they can run away from teams in this conference. FAU has won the last two games against FIU in blowouts, and I wouldn't expect anything different with this being a rivalry game. I'll take FAU in another comfortable victory.
