The Line: Arizona State Sun Devils -1 -- Over/Under: 57
The USC Trojans and the Arizona State Sun Devils will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.
USC enters this game at 5-4 overall. The Trojans have beaten Fresno State, Stanford, Utah, Arizona and Colorado but dropped to BYU, Washington, Notre Dame and Oregon.
In the loss to Oregon, USC quarterback Kedon Slovis had 264 yards with three TDs and three INTs, and Kenan Christon had 79 yards rushing. Tyler Vaughns had 75 yards on eight catches to lead the team there.
Over on the Arizona State side, they’re 5-3 so far. The Sun Devils’ wins have come against Kent State, Sac State, Michigan State, Cal and Washington State but they’ve fallen to Colorado, Utah and UCLA.
In the loss to UCLA, Arizona State QB Jayden Daniels had 267 yards with three scores, and also led the rush with 67 yards and a TD. Frank Darby added 110 yards and two TDs from six receptions.
The Trojans are 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS versus a team with a winning record. USC is 7-18-1 ATS in the last 26 road games and 10-22-1 ATS in their last 33 overall.
Meanwhile, the Sun Devils are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 after a straight-up loss and 3-7 ATS in the last 10 overall. Arizona State is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight on grass.
USC hasn’t been shy about putting up the points over their last four games. In each of those, they’ve scored at least 24, but they’ve also allowed at least 30 points in three of the quartet.
The Sun Devils have tallied some solid numbers on the scoreboard as well recently, with at least 24 in four of their last five. Thing is, ASU is pretty permissive on defense these days as well. I’m tentatively siding with Arizona State at home here, but it’s probably one to stay away from.
