The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will match up on the college football circuit Thursday.
Louisiana sits at 6-2 so far this year. The Cajuns have lost to MS State and App State but gotten wins otherwise versus Liberty, TX Southern, Ohio, GA Southern, AR State and Texas State.
In the win over the Bobcats, Louisiana QB Levi Lewis posted 183 yards and two scores, and Elijah Mitchell had 126 yards and two TDs rushing. Jalen Williams led the receivers on three catches for 50 yards.
Over on the Coastal side, they’re 4-4 this season. The Chanticleers have losses to Eastern MI, App State, Georgia State and GA Southern but have taken out Kansas, Norfolk State, UMass and Troy.
In the win over the Trojans, Chanticleers QB Bryce Carpenter had 285 yards and a TD, and Jacquez Hairston had 72 yards and two TDs rushing. Jaivon Heilgh had 107 yards on 12 receptions there as well.
The Cajuns are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall. Louisiana is 5-1 ATS in their last six conference games and 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 on grass.
Meanwhile, the Chanticleers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games. Coastal is 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five in November.
Louisiana has been looking pretty darn good for most of the season, and they’re putting up some nice points totals as well. The Cajuns have logged at least 28 points in all but one game this year, with the outlier being a 17-7 loss to ranked App State.
Coastal has been pretty solid scoring as well, with 21 or more in each of their last six. Still, I don’t think they’ll be able to keep pace here so I’m going Cajuns.
