The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will match up on the college football gridiron Saturday.
Arkansas State sits at 4-4 on the year. The Red Wolves’ losses have come to SMU, Georgia, Georgia State and Louisiana, and they’ve taken out UNLV, Southern IL, Troy and Texas State otherwise.
In the win over the Bobcats, Arkansas State QB Layne Hatcher posted 158 yards with two TDs, and Marcel Murray posted 114 yards and two rush TDs. Omar Bayless was the top receiver with 77 yards and two scores off seven grabs.
Over on the ULM side, they’re 3-4 so far. The Warhawks have wins over Grambling State, South Alabama and Texas State but have fallen to Florida State, Iowa State, Memphis and App State.
In the loss to App State, Warhawks QB Caleb Evans logged 75 yards with an INT, and Josh Johnson rushed for 77 yards. Zachari Jackson led the receivers there on 33 yards from two catches.
The Red Wolves are 5-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 21-7 ATS in their last 28 in November. Arkansas State is 44-21-1 ATS in their last 66 conference games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Warhawks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 in November and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 after a bye week. ULM is 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall.
The win over Texas State should serve as a nice pickup for the Red Wolves, as they had lost their previous pair—and given up 89 points in the process. Across a three-game stretch Arkansas State coughed up 132 points but surrendered just 14 to the Bobcats.
The Warhawks have been pretty spotty at putting up points this season, but they’ve also faced two ranked opponents in their last three. I like LA-Monroe to bounce back and cover here.
