The Pittsburgh Panthers and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will match up on the college football field Saturday.

Pitt enters this one at 5-3 so far. The Panthers have beaten Ohio, UCF, Delaware, Duke and Syracuse but fallen to Virginia, Penn State and Miami-FL.

In the loss to Miami, Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett posted 146 yards with two picks, and Todd Sibley led the rush on 54 yards. Maurice Ffrench added 47 yards on eight catches.

Over on the Georgia Tech side, they’re 2-5 this year. The Jackets have fallen to Clemson, the Citadel, Temple, UNC and Duke but taken out South Florida and Miami-FL.

In the loss to the Hurricanes, James Graham passed for 97 yards and a TD, and Jordan Mason led the GT rush with 141 yards and a score. Ardell Brown was the top receiver there with 41 yards and a TD on three grabs.

The Panthers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six in November. Pitt is 5-2 ATS in the last seven overall and 0-3-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Jackets are 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 overall. Georgia Tech is 0-5 ATS in their last five at home and 0-4 versus a team with a winning record.

Pitt has been somewhat inconsistent scoring-wise this season, registering 20 points or fewer five times out of eight games. Still, they’ve usually been good enough defensively to keep themselves in games.

As for Georgia Tech, they haven’t found their offensive rhythm quite yet either, and they’re giving up a lot of points on the other side as well. I’m going to stick with Pitt on the cover here.
