College Football: Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 3:30 pm (Glass Bowl Stadium)
The Line: Toledo Rockets -6.5 -- Over/Under: 58
The Eastern Michigan Eagles and the Toledo Rockets will match up on the college football circuit Saturday.
Eastern Michigan sits at 4-3 so far. The Eagles’ losses have come to Kentucky, Central Michigan and Ball State but they’ve otherwise beaten Coastal Carolina, Illinois, Central CT State and Western Michigan.
In the win over the Broncos, EMU quarterback Preston Hutchinson put up 357 yards and three scores, while Shaq Vann had 97 rush yards. Arthur Jackson led the receivers on 98 yards with his seven catches.
Over on the Toledo side, they’re 4-3 so far. The Rockets have wins over Murray State, CO State, BYU and Western MI but losses to Kentucky, Bowling Green and Ball State.
In the loss to Ball State, Toledo QB Carter Bradley managed 137 yards and one INT, and Ronnie Jones had 72 yards with two TDs. Nick Kovacs posted 53 yards on three receptions as well.
EMU is 22-8-1 ATS in their last 31 road games and 17-7 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The Eagles are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 in October and 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. The under is 5-2 in Toledo’s last seven home games and 5-2 in their last seven in October.
Following consecutive losses to the Chippewas and Cardinals, EMU put together a pretty solid performance against WMU 34-27. That breaks a trend of two relative low-scoring games. The Eagles haven’t scored more than 23 in any loss this year.
As for Toledo, they’ve hit the offensive skids over the last couple of games, with just 21 points scored in two outings. This one could get messy but I’m going to stick with Eastern Michigan on the cover.
