College Football: Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 7:30 pm (Memorial Stadium-Clemson)
The Line: Clemson Tigers -34.5 -- Over/Under: 61.5
The Boston College Eagles and the Clemson Tigers will meet up on the college football gridiron Saturday.
The Eagles are sitting at 4-3 on the year. Boston College has losses to Kansas, Wake Forest and Louisville but have beaten Virginia Tech, Richmond, Rutgers and NC State.
In the win over the Wolfpack, Eagles QB Dennis Grosel posted 103 yards, but most of the damage was done on the ground, with AJ Dillon posting 223 yards and three scores and David Bailey putting up 181 and two TDs.
Over on the Clemson side, they’re cruising at 7-0. The Tigers have thus far taken out Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Syracuse, Charlotte, UNC, Florida State and Louisville.
In the win over the Cardinals, Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence put up 233 yards, three TDs and two INTs. Travis Etienne had 192 rush yards with a score, and Amari Rodgers had 78 yards on three catches.
The Eagles are 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 conference games and 11-4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Boston College is 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 overall and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six in October and 6-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Clemson is 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 overall.
Boston College had their run game working overtime against NC State, and they really didn’t have to do much else but ground and pound. That strategy has been working well the last couple of games.
That said, Clemson has been dominant against pretty much everybody except UNC (21-20) and shouldn’t have much trouble controlling this game. I still think the Eagles can eke in there and cover with some clock control on the ground, though.
