The North Texas Mean Green and the Charlotte 49ers will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.

North Texas comes into this matchup at 3-4 so far. The Green have losses to SMU, Cal, Houston and Southern Miss but have beaten ACU, UTSA and Middle Tennessee otherwise.

In the win over the Raiders, North Texas QB Mason Fine posted 375 yards with one TD and two picks, and Loren Easly had 99 yards rushing. Jaelon Darden managed 125 yards and a score off 13 catches as well.

Over on the Charlotte side, they’re 2-5 so far. The Niners’ two wins came against Gardner-Webb and UMass, but they’ve lost to App State, Clemson, FL Atlantic, FIU and Western Kentucky.

In the loss to WKU, Charlotte QB Chris Reynolds posted 200 yards with a TD and an INT, and Ben Lemay had 45 rush yards. Victor Tucker put up 113 yards on six receptions as well.

North Texas is 14-38 ATS in their last 52 on turf and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 overall. The Green are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight conference games.

Meanwhile, the Niners are 4-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games. Charlotte is 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss.

North Texas has been scoring quite well as a whole this season. In each of their last four games, they’ve scored at least 25 points. The Green are just 2-2 in that time however thanks to at least 30 points allowed in each of their last three.

Charlotte has been a pretty permissive defense over their last four as well, with at least 30 allowed in each of those. This should be a pretty high-scoring game, but I like the North Texas scoring potential a little better.
