The Duke Blue Devils and the Virginia Cavaliers will meet up in college football action Saturday.
Duke comes in here at 4-2 on the year. The Devils have fallen to Alabama and Pitt but otherwise beaten NC A&T, Middle Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech this year.
In the win over the Jackets, Duke QB Quentin Harris posted 176 yards while Mataeo Durant had 74 rush yards. Jalon Calhoun added 68 yards on four receptions to lead the team there.
Over on the Cavaliers’ side, they’re 4-2 this year. After opening with wins over Pitt, W&M, Florida State and Old Dominion, Virginia has fallen to Notre Dame and Miami-FL in their last pair.
In the loss to the Hurricanes, Virginia QB Bryce Perkins had 244 yards passing and also co-led the rush on 27 yards. Hasise Dubois would finish with 93 yards on seven receptions to lead the team in that category.
The Devils are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Duke is 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine in October.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 home games. Virginia is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four overall and the under is 8-2 in their last 10 in October.
Duke really didn’t have to do a whole lot against the Yellow Jackets; they only completed 11 passes but scored four rushing touchdowns which essentially buried GT. The Blue Devils have been on a nice scoring tear since the Alabama opener, posting at least 30 points in all five games.
Virginia is capable of hanging up some nice points totals as well, but they only managed nine versus Miami and 20 versus Notre Dame. The Cavs might keep it close for a while here but I’m going to stick with the Blue Devils.
