The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas A&M Aggies meet in a week 7 SEC conference college football matchup from Kyle Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to remain unbeaten after improving to 5-0 with a 59-31 win over Ole Miss in their last outing. Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 1,718 yards and 23 touchdowns on 76.4% passing while Najee Harris leads Alabama in rushing with 337 rushing yards. DeVonta Smith leads the Tide with 537 receiving yards and 8 touchdons while Jerry Jeudy has a team-high 38 catches for 488 yards and 6 touchdowns. Henry Ruggs III also has 17 grabs for 361 yards this season. Defensively, Xavier McKinney leads Alabama with 41 total tackles including a team-high 26 solo tackles while Anfernee Jennings has a team-high 3 sacks this season. As a team, Alabama is averaging the 3rd-most productive offense in the country, logging 555 yards of total offense and 51.8 points per game while allowing 325.6 yards of total defense and 14.8 points per game against this season.
The Texas A&M Aggies will look to pick up some momentum with a big win at home after a 31-27 win over Arkansas last time out. Kellen Mond has thrown for 1,333 yards, 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 64.6% passing while Isaiah Spiller leads A&M in rushing with 255 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Jhamon Ausbon leads the Aggies in receiving with 32 catches for 446 yards while Quartney Davis has 288 receiving yards and 23 catches with 4 touchdowns. Defensively, Buddy Johnson leads Texas A&M with 27 total tackles while Justin Madubuike has a pair of sacks and Myle Jones and Roney Elam each have a pair of interceptions this season. As a team, Alabama is averaging 426.4 yards of total offense and 32.8 points per game while allowing 300.4 yards of total defense and 17.8 points per game against this season.
Alabama is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a win while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 conference games. Texas A&M is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 conference games and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 home games.
There’s no denying for me that Alabama is the better team here, and Texas A&M has their hands full here. However, Texas A&M hung in there with Clemson on the road, and kept it tight with Auburn as well and I expect this game to be no different. Kyle Field has been a tough place to go on the road for Alabama as two of their three wins since 2012 have come by just 8 points apiece. I just think that the Aggies will be up for this one, so I’ll take the points with Texas A&M at home in this one.
