The Ole Miss Rebels and the Missouri Tigers meet in a week 7 SEC conference college football matchup from Memorial Stadium at Faurot Field on Saturday night.
The Ole Miss Rebels will look to bounce back and get above .500 after a 31-6 win in their last outing over Vanderbilt snapped a two-game losing streak. Matt Corral has thrown for 844 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception on 59.6% passing while Scottie Phillips leads the Rebels in rushing with 451 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. John Rhys Plumlee has thrown for 322 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception and is 2nd on the team in rushing with 327 rushing yards while Jerrion Ealy has 294 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Snoop Conner also has 245 ground yards for the Rebels while Elijah Moore leads Ole Miss’ receiving corps with 36 grabs for 460 yards and 3 TDs. Defensively, Lakia Benry leads the Rebels with 41 total tackles including 22 solo tackles while Benito jones has 3 sacks. As a team, 438.2 yards of total offense and 27.2 points per game while allowing 395.3 yards of total defense and 25.7 points per game against this season.
The Missouri Tigers will look to build on their current 4-game winning streak after a 42-10 beating of Troy in their last outing. Kelly Bryant has thrown for 1,246 yards, 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 64.8% passing while Larry Rountree leads Mizzou in rushing with 431 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. Tyler Badie has 240 rushing yards as well while Jonathan Nance leads the Tigers in receiving yardage with 225 receiving yards this year. Jalen Knox is 2nd with 206 receiving yards and Albert Okwuegbunam has 180 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns this year. Defensively, Cale Garrett leads Missouri with 38 total tackles including 30 solo tackles as well as a team-high 3 interceptions. Nick Bolton has 29 total tackles and a pair of picks while Kobie Whiteside leads the Tigers with 5 sacks this season. As a team, Missouri is averaging 456.8 yards of total offense and 39 points per game while allowing 227.2 yards of total defense and 13.6 points per game this season.
Ole Miss is 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 conference games. Missouri is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 conference games.
The Rebels did a good job hanging around and covering against Alabama and then followed that up with a beatdown of Vanderbilt, but I’m still not sure what to fully make of this Ole Miss team. Missouri has been rock solid since their opening week upset loss to Wyoming, giving up 14 or fewer points in each of their last 4 games. Kelly Bryant appears to be for real with this Missouri offense and with the defense doing their part as well, I just don’t see how Ole Miss keeps up here. I’ll lay the points with Missouri in a game I see the Tigers winning by a couple of touchdowns.
