The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.
The Tar Heels come in at 2-3 so far this year. North Carolina won their first two games versus South Carolina and Miami-FL, but then fell to Wake Forest, App State and Clemson.
In the Clemson game, UNC quarterback Sam Howell had 144 lads and two scores, and Michael Carter added 99 rush yards. Dyami Brown had 63 yards and a score on three receptions also.
Over on the Georgia Tech side, they’re 1-3 this year. The Jackets took out South Florida in their second game but otherwise have fallen to Clemson, the Citadel and Temple.
In the loss to Temple GT quarterback James Graham had 100 yards with an interception and Tobias Oliver added 68 rush yards. Ahmarean Brown had 64 receiving yards on three catches as well.
The Tar Heels are 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last five on grass. North Carolina is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a losing home record and the over is 5-1 in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Jackets are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six in October and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS loss. Georgia Tech is 0-4 ATS in their last four home games and 0-7 ATS in their last seven overall.
North Carolina stood tall against a tough Clemson team and nearly pulled off a stunning upset nobody saw coming. How much of that is on Clemson is debatable, but it’s certainly good for NC’s confidence.
Considering Georgia Tech just doesn’t score all that well I’m more comfortable with the Tar Heels here.
